Heatbeat is a new addition to the Beat ecosystem and is used to check if a service is up or not, and if the services are reachable. Heartbeat is a lightweight daemon that is installed on a remote server to periodically check the status of services running on the host. Heartbeat supports ICMP, TCP, and HTTP monitors for checking hosts/services.
