David W. Johnson is the founder and CEO of 4sight Health, a healthcare advisory firm at the intersection of strategy, innovation, economics, and capital formation. As long-tenured investment banker, he managed over $30 billion in healthcare revenue bonds and led significant strategic advisory engagements for his health system clients.

Johnson is the author of the widely acclaimed book Market vs. Medicine: America’s Epic Fight for Better, Affordable Healthcare and the respected biweekly blog Market Corner Commentaries. He is the author-in-residence at MATTER, a Chicago-based healthcare incubator, and serves on the board or as an advisor to several early-stage companies.

His civic and professional affiliations have included the Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, Harvard Kennedy School, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the University of Chicago, the British-American Project, The Community Builders, the Health Management Academy, CHRISTUS Health, and the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Center.

Johnson holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University. A former Peace Corps volunteer, he maintains his own health and well-being, in part, by running, reading, and cooking.
