Understanding Application-Level Solutions and Document-Level Solutions

With the VSTO you can build essentially two types of solutions:

• Document-level solutions, where an add-in is loaded only in the context of a specific document or workbook

• Dpplication-level solutions, where an add-in is loaded each time the host application is loaded that can affect both the application and every document or workbook

Visual Studio 2010 provides project templates for creating both types of solutions, and in this chapter you get examples for both scenarios.
