In this chapter you learned about the hardware and software requirements for installing WebLogic server. The installation process is generally pretty painless. It involves a little patience and a couple of not-very-difficult administrative decisions. WebLogic Server v.6.x may be installed via either GUI (preferable on Windows systems) or command line (commonly associated with Unix) methods. At this writing, WebLogic Server 7.x installations are always GUI-based.
