VARIATION
Add circle shapes to take the design even further!
1. Cover your work space with newspaper or large craft paper.
2. With scissors or a craft knife, cut several diamond shapes out of black paper, five for each “star” you want to make. (See A.)
3. Brush the decoupage medium onto the back of the black diamond shapes and arrange in a star design on the gray paper. Draw a design on each diamond shape with the white gel pen by filling the space with fun marks. (You may choose to draw the designs on the diamond shapes while they are loose on your work space, and then adhere them afterward.) (See B and C.)
4. When the diamond shapes are finished, you can add designs on the gray base paper. Find fun negative space between the diamonds to fill with lines, dots, squiggles, ovals, and other marks. Outline the diamond shapes for more punch in your design. The tips of the diamonds can be extended with simple touches to add elegance. (See D.)
5. Weight under a heavy book until dry.
