Chapter 4. Getting in Control: Operation Basics

Today you finally managed to get it done! It's time for your first demonstration of the project. As we've seen in the previous chapters, you've installed and configured your first WebLogic Server. Time for champagne! Or is it too early?

Getting started: Start your WebLogic domain

Before you can use the WebLogic Server, you first will have to start it. There are several options to start it, listed as follows:

  • Using a start script, provided with the domain creation. On UNIX it's called startWebLogic.sh, on Windows startWeLogic.cmd
  • On Windows, via the Start Menu
  • With the WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST)
  • With the java weblogic.Server command
