The push model is especially useful in continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines. The build server can push out all configurations that are generated during the build process. Which configuration files are generated depends only on the environment you are in.

In a dev environment, a different set of nodes might be targeted with different configuration data. The same configuration with production configuration data can, after successful tests, be pushed to the production environment.
