Summary

In this chapter, you learned about the basic building blocks of AX programming. You read about the different datatypes you can use to store data and also saw some of the functions you can use to manipulate the variables.

You have also seen how you can use conditional statements and loops to control the flow of the code and how to use operators to analyze, assign, and manipulate data.

In the section that explained how classes and methods work, you learned about RunBase frameworks and also learned how to create an object of a class, how inheritance works in AX, and how static methods work.

At the end of the chapter, you saw how the different types of macros can be used to replace the X++ code.

In the next chapter, we will discuss how to create tables, fields, and relations so that we get a data model in the third normal form that can store the data in the AX database.
