Follow these steps to create the base application:

1. Create a Java application, Ch04_JdbcTemplate_LoggingAspect, and add to it jars for the Spring core, Spring JDBC, spring-aop, aspectjrt-1.5.3, and aspectjweaver-1.5.3.jar files.
2. Copy the required source code and configuration files in their respective packages. The final outline of the application is shown in the following screenshot:

3. Copy connection_new.xml from Ch03_JdbcTemplates in the classpath of the application, and edit it to remove the bean with the id as namedTemplate.
