Whatever your goal is with makeup, I hope you reach it! That’s true whether you just want to get better at applying your own makeup to increase your self-confidence or you want to go out and become the world’s top makeup artist.

The joy I get from making people feel their most beautiful is immeasurable. I hope you find inspiration and continue to grow. There is inspiration all around you. You never know where it might come from: a movie, a friend, or an old picture of your grandmother. Embrace it all.

Whatever you do, don’t lose sight of what makes you and each and every person you paint so special, their perceived flaws the things that make them different. We’ve learned to cover everything they might not want to see, but embrace the things that make them individuals and celebrate them.

Now that you have been armed with the knowledge about products and application, and knowledge is power, you have what you need to bring out your own or someone else’s true beauty, their self-confidence. Just remember, no one can get good at anything without putting a lot of practice and hard work into it, so don’t expect to be perfect from the start. Every day is a new chance to get it right and do it better than the day before. Practice, practice, practice.

Always remember, you cannot permanently harm anyone with makeup! It just washes off. So, don’t be afraid to experiment. If you don’t like it, wash it off and start over. One of the worst things we can do it get stuck in a rut and wear the same look for fifty years.

There are, of course, some hard and fast rules in makeup, which we have just learned, but never be afraid to venture out and try new things. You now know the basics and can use them to create anything you want. You can start to break the rules and be endlessly creative. I look forward to seeing great and wonderful things from you; I love seeing new talent and watching people grow. But most of all, I’m going to love seeing all of you walking around presenting your most confident self to the world. Embrace your own personal beauty—love who you are, today and every day!
