There are lots of new testing features added to Visual Studio 2010, particularly coded UI testing and manual testing using the Test Manager standalone tool. Manual testing is very well structured with lots of options handled separately using the MTM tool. The MTM tool contains Testing Center and Lab Center which help us to maintain the test cases, test configurations and testing environments to simulate the actual user load to test the application performance. This chapter provides the high level information on the tools and techniques available and the new techniques added to Visual Studio 2010. Each of these testing techniques is explained in detail in forthcoming chapters with detailed examples.
