Acknowledgements

This book could not have been developed without the assistance of HOK International. In particular, HOK London, where I worked, was instrumental in allowing me time and other resources utilised in the preparation of this book, such as the stunning cover photo and vivid chapter opening images. These are representative of the outstanding project work that HOK has delivered through BIM across the world.

A sincere thanks to David King, the Technical Principal for HOK London, for his guidance and mentoring throughout the development of this book.

I also thank Professor David Mosey, Director of the Centre of Construction Law at King’s College London, for the contribution of his legal expertise that he so ably demonstrated in writing Chapter 7.

I am also grateful to Alistair Kell, Director of Information Technology at BDP, who contributed guidance about the BIM Toolkit.

If, through the insights of this book, I have provided a partial glimpse into that future, it is because I have been standing on the shoulders of giants in this field of expertise. Consequently, I mention a few of the many official and informal mentors to whom I owe a debt of professional recognition and gratitude.
