Testing Your Force Platform Site
,By following the simple steps outlined in this chapter, you have created a powerful, branded public recruiting application that serves up job information stored directly in your organization—without any additional overhead. Users can search on available positions, view position details, and register for the Customer Portal. Users can also submit job applications online, including attaching a resume. When a user applies online, the Apex controller that you used for the job application Visualforce page creates corresponding candidate and job application records that are associated with the respective position. With Force Platform sites, Universal Containers will fill their open positions in no time!
The coding and configuration are done. All that remains is to test your new online job postings site:
1. | Browse to your site’s URL. |
2. | Search for a job. |
3. | Click a Position ID to drill-down to the job details page. |
4. | Click Apply. You will see the Authentication Required page. |
5. | Click the New User? link and register as a new user. |
6. | After registration, you are redirected to the Job Application page. Enter application information, including a resume attachment. |
7. | Submit your job application and verify that new Candidate and Job Application records were created in your organization. |
8. | Log out of the site and move on to the next chapter! |
