Organizations for Boosting EI

Toastmasters

As a member of this great organization, I can't say enough good things about it. Presentation skills have been shown to be crucial to how successful we are in the workplace. Toastmasters helps you develop your public speaking and leadership skills. While increasing your ability and confidence in public speaking in a supportive environment, there are many other worthwhile side benefits to belonging to this organization, including:

• Increase self-regard in all areas
• Develop team-building skills
• Increase sense of community and belonging
• Increase flexibility through exposure to diverse ideas and members
• Reduce the stress of public speaking and presentations

Volunteer Service Organizations

There are far too many of these organizations to name here but I believe that volunteering your time to an organization whose goal is to help the less fortunate is an excellent way to increase your sense of social responsibility and become happier and more optimistic. Three of the organizations that I have had experience with and strongly believe in are Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and the Boys and Girls Clubs.
