Idea 95: Making use of committed time

You can increase your level of achievement by using committed time (time that is ‘booked’, for example traveling or meal times) by, in the case of traveling time, ensuring that you use it to carry out reading, writing, thinking, having meetings, making phone calls; in the case of meal times, using them, where relevant, to hold business conversations or meetings.

In other words, you should establish productive activities to schedule alongside time that has to be committed to other activities:

  • Daily routines: use dressing, bathtime/meals etc. to stimulate your mind.
  • Waiting time: do not waste it – read or make phone calls.
  • Travel time: use it productively – reading, planning or making phone calls.
  • Television: do not let it consume too much of every evening – do something productive for yourself and your personal goals.
