21.11 CHAPTER SUMMARY
Quality localizations are becoming an expectation in today’s international mar-
kets. Gamers want to feel that they are playing a game made for them, not just
some hastily translated game that has poor voice acting and typos in the transla-
tions. If developers plan ahead for localizations at the beginning of the produc-
tion process, it is possible to create high-quality localizations that ship at the
same time as the primary version of the game. This chapter gave a general over-
view on how to plan for and execute localizations. Organizing assets for transla-
tion, integrating assets, and testing the localized versions were all discussed in
this chapter.
