Filtering by settings that have been modified

Often, you will find yourself with a task to modify a GPO, only to put off this simple, little task for days because you do not feel like poking through all of the available Group Policy settings in order to find the setting that needs to be adjusted. Well, procrastinate no more! There is a super-simple way to filter GPME so that it only displays the settings that have already been modified inside your GPO.

Pick any GPO from your environment, and Edit that guy in order to open GPME. Then, right-click on Administrative Templates (yes, once again it is unfortunate that these filtering options only exist for Administrative Templates), and choose Filter Options....

Only one simple change is needed to filter GPME to display only already-modified settings. Click on the Configured box, and select Yes. Now, click OK, and your GPME window will immediately be filtered to show you only Administrative Template settings that have been modified. All of the other thousands of untouched settings will be hidden away so that you can very quickly and easily look through what has already been configured in this policy, and make changes to those settings if necessary.
