Using a Starter GPO to build finalized GPOs

Now that we have a Starter GPO that contains some settings, I am going to pretend that I am the apprentice to the Group Policy administrator, and need to build my own GPO. There are a couple of different ways that I can invoke a new GPO that builds off of a Starter GPO. One way is to navigate to the Starter GPOs folder, find your Starter GPO, right-click on it, and select New GPO From Starter GPO...:

Alternatively, junior administrators can right-click on the main Group Policy Objects folder and select New just like they would with any other GPO. The first screen that is presented asks for a Name input for the new GPO, and gives you the opportunity on this same screen to specify a Source Starter GPO. You can see in the following screenshot that I am creating a new GPO called Accounting Control Panel Settings, and have chosen to utilize the Starter GPO called Base Control Panel Settings:

As soon as this new GPO is created, if you take a look at the Settings screen, you can see that the handful of settings that were included in the Source Starter GPO, in this case Base Control Panel Settings, have already been implemented into the new Accounting GPO:
