Organizing queries

Now, let's organize our queries by grouping queries together. In this case, we will create groups for our active and intermediate queries.

To do this, we will use the following steps: 

  1. Right-click the Hours query and select Move To Group and then New Group. The New Group dialog will be displayed, as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. For Name, enter Active and, in the Description, enter Queries that become tables in the data model.
  2. Click the OK button. Note that two folders are created, an Active folder and an Other Queries folder.
  3. Select the Budgets and Forecasts query and right-click the query.
  4. Choose Move To Group and then Active.
  5. Repeat this process for the People query.

We now have our queries organized into Active queries and Other Queries.
