Now, on the Business Layer defined previously we can create a query using Query Panel, and then execute it. We can do this by following these steps:
- Choose Queries on the Business Layer panel:
- Click on the Insert Query button to open Query Panel
- Expand each of the folders listed in the previous table and drag the corresponding dimension and measures to Result Objects for Query Panel
- Choose OK
- Now execute the query by clicking on the Execute Query button
Publish the Business Layer as a Universe to the BI platform repository:
- Choose the UNI_relational_data project File | Save All
- Right-click UNI_eFashion and choose Publish | To a Repository
- Choose Check all, click on the Check Integrity button, and click Next
- Choose Finish
We just created a Universe with the IDT that accesses a SAP HANA database. The same can be done for all other data sources. As discussed earlier, data sources (SAP HANA and SAP BW) can be directly accessed without using a Universe. By following these steps to directly access the data sources (SAP BW and SAP HANA ), the readers create their own, as a kind of assignment for this chapter.
