BabyMint

BabyMint (www.BabyMint.com) functions almost identically to UPromise, with parents and students registering their credit or debit cards and receiving contributions from participating retailers. However, the number of participating retailers in the BabyMint program is substantially smaller than UPromise.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t sign up for BabyMint; you most definitely should. Some great national restaurants and retailers have chosen to participate in the BabyMint program but not the UPromise program. By signing up for both programs, you’ll be sure you don’t miss a chance to earn some additional tuition.
But, the biggest difference between the two programs is BabyMint’s partnership with the SAGE Scholars Program (discussed in the next section). Under this program, earnings from BabyMint are matched, with the matched amount directly reducing a student’s cost of attending more than 240 colleges around the United States.

CHEAT SHEET
Although UPromise, BabyMint, and the SAGE Scholars Program are some of the oldest and most popular programs, others like Future Trust are popping up all over the place. Because most of the older programs use the same shopping partners as these newcomers do, you don’t really need to sign up unless they offer a unique partner or retailer you know you’re going to use often.
