This chapter provides details on Jurassic World. This world’s gateway is found on the far-right lower level of Vorton.
Jurassic Park is huge—and there are so many places to visit on the island! You start your visit by exiting the gateway just outside the main gate entrance (Figure 22.1).
Inside the walls are a number of attractions. Stroll down Main Street and look for several park favorites, such as the T. Rex Kingdom and the Mosasaurus Feeding Area. The huge lake in the center of the park is home to one of the biggest dinosaurs you’ll ever see, but before you can spot it, you need to figure out how to get his attention.
To the rear of the park is the volcano-shaped Innovation Centre. Inside it are work areas of the scientists responsible for bringing the dinosaurs back to life. John Hammond created Jurassic Park, and his legacy continues deep beneath the building, with some great areas to explore and quite a few surprises to discover.
Explore every nook and cranny because there are lots of secrets to discover inside the park. Although you probably want to spend most of your visit inside the park’s tall walls, there’s plenty to do outside as well.
Inside the High Security Area, Mosasaurus Lake hides a few secrets. If you’re brave enough, you might also take a ride over to the Raptor Training area. If you hop in a Gyroscope vehicle and wander safely through the dinosaur preserve, you’re sure to spot some big ones (Figure 22.2).
Lord Vortech most certainly did some damage to Jurassic Park, and six areas need repairs or upgrades:
Restore the dinosaur battle statue—At 60,000 studs, this is quite a pricey repair job—but it really is a nice statue!
Restore the John Hammond statue (Figure 22.3)—Considering that Hammond created the park, don’t you think 50,000 studs is a fair price to fix the man’s statue?
Unlock the jukebox—If you’d like to be able to change the background music playing in this world, unlock the jukebox for 25,000 studs.
Restore the bait trap—Dinosaurs have to eat, so chip in the 70,000 fee and get this device fixed so the Mosasaurus can eat. Pull the handle and see why it might not be a good idea to go swimming.
Restore the dinosaur skeleton—For 30,000 studs, you can have a nice-looking skeleton added to the park. If you’ve got Scooby-Doo, check in the area for a special dig area that offers a container filled with blue studs.
Restore the Raptor cages—If the park is going to be safe for visitors, the Raptor cages must be fixed. Spend 60,000 and make the place safe.
Tip: The Gyroscope Stud Machine
Do you like to collect as many studs as possible? If so, using the Gyroscope vehicle is one of the best ways to do this. It has a short turning radius, so when you roll over an object to destroy it, you can rotate quickly and grab the studs. With other vehicles, sometimes you overshoot the studs that scatter, but the Gyroscope will actually rotate in place with the RJ.
Help create a new dinosaur—Lowery’s deep in the Hammond Creation Lab, and if you find him, he can take you on for a great quest. He wants a tiny pet dinosaur created, but this quest does require a character (such as Cyborg) who has the ability to operate the tech equipment outside Lowery’s office. You need to listen carefully to Lowery’s description of what he wants and then choose three items to mix together. Get the right creature created, and you earn a gold brick.
Protect Masrani—Masrani has crashed his helicopter, and 15 raptors have been attacking him while he’s waited for help. Fight them off (Figure 22.4) and earn a gold brick.
Save the turtles—Next to a small lake, young Gray is asking for help finding and protecting three turtles. Locate all three by looking for the red flashing dots on the map, and then return to Gray for your gold brick reward.
There are a lot of fun areas that you don’t want to miss, including these:
T. Rex exhibit—You’ll need a Gyroscope vehicle to enter the exhibit: Drive it up on the gyroscope pad near the entrance, as shown in Figure 22.5. Once you’re inside, Wyldstyle and Batman can work together to find a hidden gold brick.
The music store—There’s a Shift keystone here and a puzzle for you to solve. Take home another gold brick with the help of Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle.
The Hammond Creation Lab—Located behind John Hammond’s statue, this lab is definitely a great place to visit for a few surprises.
The secret of Mosasaurus Lake—Take a swim and try to find the secret at the very bottom of the lake—as well as a secret exit to the outside of the park.
