All books are a collaborative effort, but this one especially so. My co-author Bruce K. Hopkins brought unique insights into the process and created figures that are worth a thousand words. Peachpit’s Rebecca Gulick managed the whole process with humor and with confidence and determination that we were going to create a great book. Anne Marie Walker served as air traffic controller, managing our team. David Morris did an inspired and tenacious job of technical editing. Most of all, this book is the product of what I’ve learned from being a part of the Illustrator and vector graphic communities, and from interaction with my students, who continue to inspire me with creativity and tough questions.
