For a long time, the MongoDB development community has created various database GUI clients to assist working with MongoDB. Many of these clients have very similar feature sets and focus on providing a GUI interface to manage your MongoDB databases and records. Recently, the MongoDB team has provided their own official GUI toolkit called MongoDB Compass. This utility can be a very useful reference to see exactly what data is persisted to MongoDB. You can even use it to test queries and create documents outside of your application. If you are ever in doubt about the state of your MongoDB database, you should use MongoDB Compass to investigate.
