Problem Description

A large consumer electronics company needs to equip its sales force with a very reliable, portable order-entry system. The order-entry client application will run on the sales rep's laptop, and the central order processing system will reside on the corporate network at the home office.

The sales force is highly mobile. It must be possible for them to enter new orders at any time. Figure 14.1 shows a conceptual view of the system.
