Open and Close iPhoto
Your Mac has iLife installed, and the suite includes the iPhoto application, which offers special tools for viewing, managing, and editing your photos. You can also purchase iPhoto via the App Store. With iPhoto you can import photos from a digital camera, view and organize the photos on your Mac, and edit and repair photos.
To begin using the program, you must first learn how to find and open the iPhoto window. When you finish using the program, you can close the iPhoto window to free up computer processing power.

In the Dock, click iPhoto ().
The iPhoto window appears.
The first time you launch iPhoto, the program asks if you want to use iPhoto when you connect your digital camera.
Click Yes.
The first time you launch iPhoto, the program asks if you want to view your photos on a map.
If you have a GPS-enabled camera (such as an iPhone 3G or later, or an iPad 2 or later with 3G or 4G) or if you want to enter location data manually, click Yes.
Close iPhoto
Click iPhoto.
Click Quit iPhoto.
