Sharing Actions

One of the many benefits of actions is that they are very shareable. Actions are really just small text files that are cross-platform and largely usable in multiple versions of Photoshop. To share an action, it must be in a set—yes, even if you only want to share one action, it still must be in a set. To create an .atn file you can share with other folks, click Set and then go to the Actions panel menu and choose Save Actions. You can then share resulting .atn file with other Photoshop users.
