Inetis DotWAP is a freeware WML-generation utility and was designed from the ground up specifically for WAP and WML. Using DotWAP, you can lay out a set of pages and then generate complete sets of WML files, all without writing a line of WML code.
Key DotWAP features include
Page-creation tools that include text, links, and images
Automatic WBMP image conversion (from GIF, JPEG, and BMP)
HTML preview that simulates device output
DotWAP is used to create projects (WME files). A single project can contain as many pages and links as needed. Projects can be saved and reopened for editing as needed.
Development starts with a simple page as seen in Figure D.6. You can specify the page title and the body text (along with basic formatting). Each page can contain blocks of text, images, and links to other pages (both pages created with DotWAP or external URLs). Each type of inserted item has a page that prompts you for item-specific options (as seen in Figure D.7).
After you have created your site (mine is shown in Figure D.8), you can preview it via an HTML simulation. As seen in Figure D.9, using standard tables and basic formatting, DotWAP launches a Web browser that displays your new site. Of course, the HTML representation is just that—a representation. You must still use real WML emulators and devices to see what your code will actually look like.
When you are satisfied with the site, DotWAP will generate a complete set of WML files for you. All you do is select the Create WML Files option and specify an output directory.
