IN THIS CHAPTER
Displaying output on a WML device is, of course, just like rendering HTML. You simply need to organize your content logically and use the WML tags to convey that organization to the browser.
Since WML is an application of XML, the markup rules are a bit stricter than you might be accustomed to; HTML is an application of the more-general SGML. This chapter guides you through constructing WML output. You begin with the basics of decks and cards and then walk through the layout options that you have available. With that under your belt, the chapter guides you through the advanced topics of special rendering and output customization for specific devices.
Note
This chapter shows you snippets from the XML DTD and delves into the XML specification, at times, in detail. You can find the XML 1.0 specification at http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml and for even more information, see http://www.xml.com.
