Summary

I've covered a lot of ground in this chapter; I showed you the basics of constructing output for a WML browser. First, I began by explaining the basics of delivering text in cards within a deck, the formatting options for that text, and the facility for dynamically constructing text from variables. Next, I showed you the facilities for adding layout to the raw text that your application delivers using wrapping and alignment, line breaks, tables, and preformatted text. Finally, I wrapped up the output discussion with text rendering issues that you need to be aware of when delivering the text to the device.

WML browsers provide the user a graphics display, albeit a small one, that you should take advantage of when you get the chance to enhance the usability of your application. In the next chapter, you will learn all about conveying information to the user by displaying images in your decks.
