Bettina M. Kurkoski, living in
Plymouth, Massachusetts,
defines herself as creator,
writer, penciller, inker,
toner, coffee maker and
dark chocolate eater. She’s
been drawing since she
can remember. Throughout
elementary school, she’d
entertain herself drawing
thousand of pictures of
Garfield. By the time she
hit seventh grade, she was
bitten by the comic book
bug and had a healthy
dosage of anime. She then
began creating her own
characters and comics with
a very eighties flare. She
then went off to college
and majored and graduated
with a bachelor of fine arts
in illustration from UMass-
Dartmouth. After college, she
took up some regular Joe jobs
to pay back college loans and
rekindled her love for anime.
Through this addiction her
style evolved with a very
anime look to it. Even though
she did go to college, she’s
pretty much 80 percent self
