Sachlich is a complete and
utter mystery. Little is known
of her other than that she
is an illustrator, and her
drawings use Japanese
kawai
and manga cartoons as a
starting point to transport
the viewer to disturbing,
troubling places where girls
are not as innocent as they
seem at first sight. A visit
to her blog means crossing
the threshold of everyday
reality to reach a world that is
closer to David Lynch than to
Katsuhiro Otomo. Sachlich,
who also works as a writer
and photographer as well as
an illustrator, hopes soon to
turn her hand to animation.
