Objectives

The objective of this chapter is to introduce the DB2 Extender family and provide an overview of each DB2 Extender product and its key functionality. Subsequent chapters in this section will review each product in more detail. They will include product installation, configuration, administration, and usage. The level of detail described in later chapters is for reference only. The Application Development Certification Exam requires only a basic knowledge of these products. By the end of this chapter, you should be familiar with the purpose of each DB2 Extender product and when they should be used. The following DB2 Extender products will be covered:
