UCS domain registration with UCS Central

The latest UCS Central 1.5 can manage the UCS domain registration directly from UCS Central and doesn't need to configure each UCS domain to register with it individually. UCS Central interacts with admin users and doesn't need to enter the shared-secret password, as this will push the configuration to the UCS domain. It is recommended that the hostname should be used for UCS domain registration instead of using an IP address.

UCS Central establishes a secure connection with UCS Manager Central and uses entered admin credentials to accomplish a successful registration with the domain as shown in the following screenshot. Registration can also be done from the Central CLI:

The Policy Resolution Control tab in the Domain to UCS Central Register window provides control to select either a Local or Global policy for UCS domain management. Users can select the choice according to what functions they need to leverage through UCS Central:

Once the UCS domain has been registered with Central, the Registration Status comes up as Registered in the domain under the Admin tab as shown in the following screenshot:

Once the UCS domain is registered on Central, you can manage all the pools, policies, templates, service profiles, and service profile templates globally. UCS Central will push this configuration to the selected UCS domain and the domain will store it locally. Central will keep monitoring the usage of these identities across all the domains as shown in the following screenshot:

The UCS Central dashboard can provide complete visibility of all the UCS domains, as shown in the following screenshot:
