The following are the steps to configure SNMP for sending alerts to a remote SNMP server:
- Log in to the UCSM screen.
- Click on the Admin tab on the navigation pane.
- Expand Communication Management.
- Select Communication Services from the work pane.
- In the SNMP section, select the Enabled radio button for the Admin State option, as shown in the following screenshot:
- Click on the green Add sign under the SNMP Traps heading; a new pop-up window will appear for configuring SNMP.
- Provide the IP Address value of the remote collection server, SNMP string in the Community/Username field, server Port value, SNMP Version type, and Type of data collection. The last option, the v3Privilege field, is only applicable for SNMP v3.
- Click on OK.
- Click on Save Changes as shown in the following screenshot.
