A scrub policy defines the behavior of a server when it is disassociated from a service profile in terms of BIOS settings and the installed OS on the server. A scrub policy could be very useful for erasing servers for security compliance:
- Log in to UCS Manager.
- Click to expand the Servers tab in the navigation pane.
- Click on the Policies tab and expand root.
- Right click on Scrub Policies and when the pop-up menu appears, click on Create Scrub Policy.
- Assign a Name and a short Description to the scrub policy.
- Set Disk Scrub to Yes, if it is required to erase all data from the server hard disk, otherwise leave it as No.
- Set BIOS Settings Scrub to Yes if it is required to serve BIOS, otherwise leave it as No.
