The following checklist covers all the steps which need to considered for a new domain tree deployment:

• Prepare physical/virtual resources for the domain controller
• Install Windows Server 2016 Standard/Datacenter
• Patch servers with the latest Windows updates
• Assign dedicated IP address to the domain controller
• Find information about AD forest and Schema Admin/Enterprise Admin login details for the existing forest root domain
• Log into the server as local administrator
• Install AD DS role
• Configure AD DS new domain tree
• Review logs to verify the healthy AD DS installation and configuration
• Configure service and performance monitoring
• AD DS backup/DR configuration
