The next strategy is to create a branch for each release you are preparing. It gives you the ability to stabilize the product before release and isolate it from ongoing development:

As we can see in the preceding diagram, it is good for apps going to AppSource because you can fix issues based on the AppSource validation procedure and the app will not be affected by new development in between. The fixes could be integrated back to the master branch at any time.
