In this recipe, we are going to work from another angle in our Moodle course. We are going to work as teachers. In the writing activities, we have to correct on our own. We cannot let the computer do it, and though there is a spelling corrector, we do need to check grammar, coherence, and cohesion. So let's Moodle it.
We have already chosen the option of the essay within the quiz, so what we can do is to write a comment on the essay of our students. We have to do it one by one; there's no other alternative to do it in a different way. We are going to write a comment for each of them.
We are going to change the role to teacher so that we can correct the essay. After changing the role to teacher, you have to follow these steps:
- Click on the activity to correct.
- Click on Info, as shown in the next screenshot:
- Click on Results as shown in the next screenshot:
- Then click on 0 below the Grade block to give a mark to the activity.
- Click on Make a comment or override grade, as shown in the next screenshot:
We have finally arrived at the block in which we can write the comment for our students. Therefore, we are going to write a comment taking into account grammar, coherence, cohesion, and usage of the cubing technique. You can also consider other aspects when correcting the essay. So these are the steps that you have to follow to write the comment:
- Write a comment in the Comment block.
- Write a grade in the Grade block.
- Click on Save.
