The daily huddle

The fifth tool in the management system is the Daily Huddle. This is an informal discussion between the manager and the team regarding the activities that will need to be completed in the upcoming period.

Depending upon the nature of your organization, you might decide to have a huddle daily, weekly, or even monthly. If you are in a very fast moving environment (for example, one in which activities change significantly from one day to the next), you’ll benefit from doing this daily.

The Daily Huddle is intended to bring clarity and agreement to the team regarding the upcoming activities. It’s also intended to reinforce the positive things that have happened since the last huddle. We believe that reinforcing positive activities is a powerful morale booster in any situation.
