To avoid any unexpected scenarios regarding your apps, it is recommended that you back up your apps regularly. Therefore, in the worst-case scenario, you can retrieve your application with minimal data loss.
To configure backup for your app, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the App Service you want to back up.
- Under Settings, click on Backup, as shown in the following screenshot:
- When you click on Configure, a new blade will open where you have to specify the following:
- Storage settings: Specify a container in a storage account where the backup will be stored. If you do not have a storage account, you will have to create one.
- Backup schedule: Specify whether you want to run the backup based on a schedule or not. If you enabled scheduling, you will have to specify the following:
- Backup every: Specify the frequency of the backup either in days or hours.
- Specify backup schedule from: Specify when to trigger the backup schedule for the first time.
- Retention: Specify for how long you want to retain the backup files. You can set it to 0 to keep the backup files indefinitely.
- Keep at least one backup: Specify whether you want to keep at least one backup or not.
- If you want to back up the database of the app, tick INCLUDE IN BACKUP to back it up too. If you have other backup policies for your databases, you do not have to include it:
