Summary

As an alternative to developing using the Arduino IDE, there are many more IDEs and tools that are ready to work with Galileo and that will make your life as a developer much easier. IntelĀ® IoT Developer Kit packs a hardware and software solution, allowing you to use other programming languages such as Python or Node.js in your Galileo boards. In this chapter, you had an overview of the IoT Developer Kit components and its concept. You created the Developer Kit bootable image, which we will use in the following chapters and learn how to to use the UPM and MRAA libraries by creating a simple demo to extract data from a Grove light sensor using different programming languages.

In the next chapter, we'll be using this image tools and libraries to build a small meteorological station.
