Network protection

Network protection allows you to block users who are attempting to access malicious or blocked URLs from utilizing apps.

In this section, I'll demonstrate configuring a device profile for Windows 10 machines that illustrates the broad spectrum of Microsoft Defender settings that are available during configuration. Let's get started:

  1. First, we need to create a new profile for Windows 10 machines and set the profile type to Endpoint protection (machine). Our settings will provide many Microsoft Defender options.
  1. Next, select Windows Defender Exploit Guard:

  1. Now, under Network filtering, we can enable network protection. The Audit option only logs potential risks, whereas Enable will actively block and log, thereby sending notifications to the Action Center:
