Cloud-based Microsoft RMS can utilize the on-premise IRM functionality by deploying the RMS connector. The connector can be installed on physical on-premises servers or virtual machines (VMs) running Windows 2008 R2 or later. You may install it, for example, on SharePoint and Exchange servers. Follow these steps:
- Install the RMS connector.
- Enter your credentials.
- Authorize the servers so that they can use the RMS connector.
- Configure load balancing and high availability.
- Configure the servers so that they can use the RMS connector.
