Representativeness

Do the observed data values represent the real world? IoT devices should record values that are not only within the range of the sensors but also line up with what they are measuring in the real world. For example, a healthcare IoT device that measures pulse rate should report a distribution similar to what is observed at physician's offices for the same patient population.

A pulse rate of 120 is valid, but a distribution with an average of 120 does not represent a normal patient population. Unless the device is only attached to people during strenuous activity, there is probably something wrong with the data.
