Summary

This chapter provided you with a very basic introduction to security, but it covers all the CCENT objectives.

I started this chapter with an introduction to security on an enterprise network and then discussed the various types of attacks seen on networks today.

I then discussed how to mitigate password and hardware attacks on Cisco routers and switches.

The chapter ended with a brief introduction to virtual private networks and IPsec.
