Each clustered role can be configured with different settings. These settings include failover properties and the preferred owner. If you open the Failover Cluster Manager console, right-click on the role, and select Properties, you'll see the role settings in two tabs—General and Failover.
On the General tab, you can define which node will be the preferred node for the role, or you can leave all nodes unchecked. You can also configure the priority for starting the clustered role again after a failure:
On the Failover tab, you can configure how the cluster role handles failover and failback. By default, if the role fails to failover more than once in six hours, it will remain in the failed state. Failback is, by default, prevented:
