If the volume is low on free space, NTFS supports multiple ways to expand the free space:

• Allocating free space from the same disk or from a different disk
• Compressing the files using system-file compression
• Using disk quotas for controlling and tracking disk-space usage
• Using mounting points to mount a volume to an empty folder
