NTFS adds the support for dynamic disks and volumes, which allow us to create volumes that span multiple disks and volumes that are fault-tolerant, such as mirrored, spanned, and striped volumes. Dynamic disks thus provide speed, reliability, and redundancy, characteristics very much appreciated in server environments.
