Chapter 21. Viewing, Using, and Sharing Photographs

If you own a digital camera (or a mobile phone with a digital camera), you probably already have dozens of digital photographs scattered all over your computer.

To get photographs into your iPad, you’ll need to synchronize them using iTunes (see Chapter 15) or buy Apple’s optional camera connection kit, which lets you plug a digital camera into an iPad through a USB port or through a Secure Digital (SD) card. No matter how you get your pictures into your iPad (or even if you just take photos with the iPad itself), you’ll be able to view and use them in different ways.

Remember, you aren’t just limited to storing digital photographs in your iPad. You can store any type of graphic image that’s in the JPEG, TIF, PNG, or GIF file format. That means you can store artwork that someone has created using a program, such as Photoshop or Corel Painter or engineering drawings created by a computer-aided design (CAD) program.

In this chapter you will learn how to view pictures (digital photographs, graphic images, and so on) on your iPad.
